Work in Progress - Lycaon Pictus
Previously i posted an image of an easle that i built for a commission that i was going to be working on. Well, this is it.  This is a commission for a client who wanted a life sized drawing of an african wild dog.  I've got a long way to go, but so far so good. Im really happy with the textures and darks that im achieving.  Im using pencil and charcoal on Bristol Smooth paper. The lines that you see on the background is frisket film.  My client wanted just the dog and nothing on the background.  The frisket film will protect it from getting dirty and from you can see, its working.  I made the body slightly blurry in order to give the drawing much more depth and make the face stand out much more.  Thanks for watching and be sure to follow my page on facebook.…
Finally Framed by chandito
Finally Framed
Finally got these two monster drawings framed and im so happy with the way they look. I added a 5" mat and 2" frame. I also went with a non reflective glass and im so glad i did. Its like there is nothing there when you look at it.  Now the drawing measures 54"x44" with frame. It always amazes me how a frame can take piece of artwork to a whole different level.
Preparation for Framing by chandito
Preparation for Framing
Getting this bad boy ready for framing. It also gives me the opportunity to show off my new easel that i built.  I already had a drafting table but it was too small for the new commission that i just received. This commission will measure 3x4 feet and will be a life sized drawing of an animal. Don't want to give it away, so ill surprise you.  I built this easel so that it spins, tilts and turns into a table as well.  I added wheels for easy movement.  It measures 4x5 feet and im really happy with the way it works. It makes it so much easier to work on large drawings.
  • Mood: Affection
I want to start exhibiting my large drawings, but before that I need to scan them and frame them. Custom framing can get pretty expensive but it's amazing what a frame can do to a piece of artwork. This campaign is to be able to do that. For your contributions i will be offering perks. It will be a huge help and I'd really appreciate your support. If you can't contribute, you can still help by sharing the page through your social streams. Thank you so much and I will keep you updated on the progress.
