Finally Framed by chandito
Finally Framed
Finally got these two monster drawings framed and im so happy with the way they look. I added a 5" mat and 2" frame. I also went with a non reflective glass and im so glad i did. Its like there is nothing there when you look at it.  Now the drawing measures 54"x44" with frame. It always amazes me how a frame can take piece of artwork to a whole different level.
Preparation for Framing by chandito
Preparation for Framing
Getting this bad boy ready for framing. It also gives me the opportunity to show off my new easel that i built.  I already had a drafting table but it was too small for the new commission that i just received. This commission will measure 3x4 feet and will be a life sized drawing of an animal. Don't want to give it away, so ill surprise you.  I built this easel so that it spins, tilts and turns into a table as well.  I added wheels for easy movement.  It measures 4x5 feet and im really happy with the way it works. It makes it so much easier to work on large drawings.
Look into my eyes by chandito
Look into my eyes
Done! This was a fun drawing. I put in as much detail as possible, especially with the fine hairs. I spent quite some time on tiny details and i think it was worth it in the end. I decided to go with the black background because it makes the tiger stand out more. It was a 4 step process for the background. I laid down a light layer with charcoal pencil and blended that in evenly. I repeated this step and it gave me a dark gray. From there I covered the whole area in charcoal by applying more pressure, trying not to leave any white spots. Over the charcoal I added a final layer with 8b. This last layer took me the longest because I was adding it with more pressure and had to make sure it covered every bit of paper. It gave me a really deep black and I'm happy with the way it turned out. Thanks to everyone that followed my progress. Please share and like. Have a good everyone!
African Wild Dog by chandito
African Wild Dog
Newest pencil drawing.
I used quite a bit of charcoal with this one, which explains the deep darks.  Im really happy with the way this one turned out, especially the texture.  I have always had an admiration for this animals. They're not as powerful or as big as other african predators, but they make it up in their ability to work as a team to take down prey.

Title: African Wild Dog
Size: 11"x14"
Medium: Pencil/Charcoal

Check out this video that shows up close view of some of the details.…
  • Mood: Affection
I want to start exhibiting my large drawings, but before that I need to scan them and frame them. Custom framing can get pretty expensive but it's amazing what a frame can do to a piece of artwork. This campaign is to be able to do that. For your contributions i will be offering perks. It will be a huge help and I'd really appreciate your support. If you can't contribute, you can still help by sharing the page through your social streams. Thank you so much and I will keep you updated on the progress.
